Frequently asked questions

What does "psychic medium" really mean?

A medium is a person who is able to communicate with those who have crossed over into the afterlife. A psychic is a person who can read energies here on Earth, such as people, animals, and gain intuitive information regarding relationships, careers, and other Earthly matters. All mediums also have psychic abilities, although not all psychics are also mediums. I use both words to make it easy to understand the abilities that I possess.

How did you realize you were a psychic medium?

I explain this a bit more in depth on my about page, but I'll try to give a quick summary here. I was a 22 year old high school English teacher in Chicago Public Schools and very stressed out and anxious at my job. When I google searched "natural ways to reduce anxiety," I stumbled upon the ancient healing practice of reiki. As I moved up in reiki attunement levels, I also was inadvertently teaching myself how to meditate for the first time. The combination of energy therapy and meditation meant that I was open and now growing more and more talented at receiving information. Over time, I began receiving information for myself, then for friends, and eventually for strangers. I left the public teaching classroom in 2009 and have been a practicing professional psychic medium ever since then! I certainly had premonitions and psychic insights before reiki and meditation, but these new practices made my abilities very prominent.

I don't know what kinds of questions to ask! What kinds of questions can I ask?

The sky is the limit! You can ask anything you like, and everything is confidential. You can ask about your career, relationships, health, decisions to be made, pets, children, late loved ones, spirit guides, angels . . . your own imagination is your only limit. On my services page, you can get a more in depth explanation of what can be covered in a reading.

Keep in mind, of course, that a reading should never serve as a substitute for professional consultation from a physician, attorney, or mental health professional. Always seek extra guidance in these matters.

Is a reading over the phone just as good as a reading in person?

Yes, absolutely. My abilities come in just as strongly whether we are in person, on the phone, using Skype, and honestly, even through email. The physical distance between myself and my client makes no difference in clarity or accuracy. You should choose the kind of reading that will make you feel most comfortable. It is always enjoyable to meet someone in person, but the quality of your reading will be the same no matter what you choose. Nearly all of my clients are phone clients! I have callers from all time zones in the United States, as well as Canada, Europe, and Asia.

If you live in the Kansas City metro area and would like to have a reading in person, please let me know. Also, I am available for travel throughout the country for reading parties and classes.

How much does a reading cost?

A reading costs $70 for 30 minutes or $135 for one hour. All payments are made via PayPal in advance of your appointment.

I'm not sure whether I need 30 minutes or 60 minutes. What should I do?

I recommend that you purchase one hour just in case. Your time is your time to use however you like. This means that if after 40 minutes of a 60 minute reading, you feel like your questions are all answered, you will have the option of either getting a refund on the 20 minutes you did not use, or saving your 20 minutes for a later reading. This way, you don't have to worry about wasting your money. I value your time and money and want you to have a good value for your experience.

I would like a reading, but cost is an issue. Do you ever have discounts?

A few times a year, I make discounts available to those who are on my newsletter list. Also, if you make sure to like my Facebook page, you'll see that I occasionally have giveaways for those who follow the newsfeed.

A group of my friends and I would like to have a gathering for readings at my house. How can we arrange that? How much would that cost?

Simply send me an email or give me a phone call! I am available at my hourly rate of $70/30 minutes or $135/hour for parties of 3 or more hours in the Kansas City metro area. There will be a travel fee based on distance. Let me know about the number of people and what your interests are and we can set something up for your group.

Should I call you, or will you call me?

At your appointment time, you will call me at 618-830-2041.
